This week’s photo home work was to create a portrait for a crime novelist. I went with a film noir style. I found Armando on line. Doesn’t he look the part?
I'm taking a publication class and a lot of the assignments are portrait based. I'm dropping off ten rolls of toy camera stuff so expect a flood of toy camera images coming soon.

This is a portrait I took of my publication class writer Melissa. We took it in the hallway of my apartment building with a gold reflector. She is squinting because the sun is being reflected into her eyes. I think it looks a little majestic or like a high school senor portrait, I haven't decided yet. Besides a little dodging and burning no other editing was done to the image. It’s a lil dark up top but the person holding the reflector was getting tired.
I have been in a serious black and white kick lately. I’m currently working on props for a new project and haven’t had time to shoot. This is an out take I stumbled upon looking through the archives. I’m thinking of doing some photo-shop tutoring and I might post the raw and maybe a step by step process to this image soon.
This is a portrait of my dog Julius and he is one of my favorite beings on earth. I love the wing like high light in the background. He is my lil angel.
I went to the Salton Sea a few months back. I shot about 600 images and I haven’t posted any mostly because don’t like them very much. I also had bought a Circular polarizer for this trip and it added noise to my images. I wasn't to happy about that, I’m looking forward to a second trip.
